funny you should mention that yesterday when i went out on her and she broke down on me i coulda sworn that although the choke lever was in the off position i could see the choke was ON at the carbs ....moved the lever and it seemed to operate ok and the slide rod in the side of the carb seems to go in and out ok ... |

just a thought...could you swap the cdi unit and try it?
years ago i spent 4 days ferkin about with the carbs and it turned out to be the cdi unit instead...aaaarrgghh!!
it was fine cold but when it warmed up it was spluttering and effing about like no ones buisness.i would also try to swap the coils round to see what happens with the header temp...if it moves across it might be the coils too...see what happens ay pete? |

good luck pete anyway...adding to what i said already..my old xl600r stopped sparking...i tried the parts off of a donor(mates)bike and it turned out to be the generator windings....however before that happened it would bang and ferk about like no ones busness...complete random behaviour...totally frustrating shit...a good learning curve...im interested to know exactly what is wrong with your bike when it gets sussed out...cheers. |

Managed to scratch the rear seat cowl on the bike getting it out of the garden this morning.
Then rode to work to find the at the other end my bag had unzipped so all my work clothes are somewhere on the M25. Probably still on someone's wind screen
Should have just gone in the fecking car. |
