Phone call to inform me that my bike is repaired and that the chain & sprockets will be done tomorrow AM, so MOT may be done by tomorrow PM which means I might just be able to get out on the TVAM ride from Wokingham on Sunday!

It´s bliss here in Tenerife Cool 23--24 celcius every day, no wind and bright blue skies. I drove to the top of Mount Teide today and the views are spectacular. It´s like something out of Star Wars, very lunar and volcanic. More sunbathing tomorrow to top up my tan. Very Happy

Laughing Well, that'll be my next one. Why can't they make life convenient and show daytime porn?

But no, the complaint was as follows:

Quote:
So, with all the information provided under the "Contact Us" section, it actually seems you've failed to put any contact reference, such as an email address, for informing the BBC of a technical fault, or indeed any other issue. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a little silly?

Ironically, I started out checking the weather forecast and I did see the information I needed, but I also noticed a minor technical issue with your web site. Having had the misfortune to feel helpful, I decided I would contact the BBC to allow them to rectify the issue and thereby increase the satisfaction, or decrease dissatisfaction, of their customers. So I took a look at the link labelled "Contact Us."

You'll never have any idea how awe strikingly miraculous I found it when I came to the conclusion that there is a complete absence of any contact details, email address, telephone number or even a snail mail address, for sending in reports of technical faults.

So why is it there? What is the purpose of this link, "Contact Us"? Could it possibly be filed as false advertising? Perhaps it should be relabelled, "Do NOT, Under Any Circumstances, Attempt to Contact Us, We Will Not Provide Contact Details and Furthermore, Any Contact Received Shall Be Destroyed Upon Receipt." Okay, so that's a little long winded and perhaps somewhat over the top. It would be far more accurate though, don't you agree?

Oh, and the original reason for my wanting to contact you in the first place, which I am sure you will consider trivial and insignificant, is that your BBC Weather 24hr forecast isn't working. And please save me the hassle of answering the silly technical questions, how many morons are left in the world who don't know that already? Possibly the chav population of Slough.

So, some contact information on the "Contact Us" link, please? I'll even put a cherry on top.

I don't think you'll need to do anything about fixing the weather forecast for a few days. You could possibly even get away with removing the page as it is and placing text in bold type, "It's snowing, what the F#Ã'©& else do you want us to say?"

I used their "make a complaint" link and filled in a webform (not listed under contact us).

I bet the reply you get from the BBC won't contain what the person typing it is really thinking. Thoughts along the line of "I wonder if his mother knew his father at the time of conception" or "Oh no another user from Slough"

I was taught a very long time ago that there is a way of corresponding to people if you want to get your view across/want results or even just want to be taken seriously. Its stood me in good stead in work and business these last 20 odd years.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "complaint" just gets binned as another bore of the day. Now don't get me wrong. I'm not having a pop or a dig, just pointing out what effect such an email would have if I were the person who recieved it.
