Thanks all. Police came round this morning. I suspect the guy might face a careless/reckless charge, as he undertook the ambulance at speed on a bend without clear view of the road ahead, but I'm sure GT/Mouse know more about that!

Now spending my recovery time trying to sort out claiming against his insurance (at the very least for a new helmet, as I was holding mine at the time!)...

Where did you get knocked over ? i work in kingston and the daily commute into work is always alittle 'interesting' !

Wood Street (dual carriageway outside Bentalls), near Dexters.

Shocked I always park there when I go to Kingston!

Watch out for Black Astras in future! Evil or Very Mad

Or at least make sure it's in front of an ambulance Razz

Sorry to hear about your injuries Jo and Dunc (and anyone else I may have missed).

Just had a call from David. Bailiffs turned up at the flat this morning wanting to remove MY furniture etc as apparently the lodger has a debt of £1100 that he hasn't paid to the court. Apparently he didn't know about it. Rolling Eyes

The bailiffs said that I've got to prove that all the possessions in the flat are mine - except I don't have receipts for a majority of the stuff, just an inventory. Crying or Very sad

AFAIK, they can't take anything unless you let them in, worth checking, but I don't think you "have" to let them in - not 100% on that... Perhaps a sworn affidavit with a solicitor on your inventory would be sufficient??

Gave Robert a call - says you don't have to let bailiffs in although they do have the right to force entry but they seldom do. Also, they should have left info as to how they can be contacted which David said they didn't. Will have to get in touch with the lodger to find out.

Hopefully, if I can speak to them I can find out what I need to do to sort it out. (Apart from paying the lodger's debt of course! He's asking the court if he can have time to pay it back - think the letters were going to an old address.)
