WPMOT. Spending the week on our stand at a trade show, which is something I detest doing, especially at the NEC as it's such a stale soul-less shithole; but I willingly volunteered for as my MD's wife was in the latter stages of dying to allow him that last precious time. So I drum up lots of interest in our company, which incidently was named after the MD's wife... and then some wanker stole my colleagues laptop last night, which not only has meant resetting every damn password, but also in the laptop bag were all the fucking leads from the show.

The MD's wife passed away Monday night too, she's been a lifelong friend too. What a shite week. Crying or Very sad R.I.P.

my usually straight up no nonsense car MOT centre obviously circumming to the pressures of the recession.
last saturday car booked in for mot ...it failed ....last hanger on the tail section of the exhaust had broken free of the exhaust itself ...ok fair play i accept that ...dont worry mate we can weld a new bracket on ( i check the solidity of the exhaust for accepting welding and its fine its the actuall bracket thats broken) OK lets do that,
1 side light not working ...its a F8ckin volvo the headlights are always on dipped beam which tottaly outshines the tiny sidelight wqithin the headlight casing but......yup the book says its a fail and im happy to accept the guy has to do his job, annnnd the handbrake fails miserably ..yeah i figured it would i knew it was shit but its an auto and PARK has worked fine for now , its probably going to be the friction surface itself delaminated from the metal shoe ....yup sounds feasible ....new shoes required .....now ok i coulda done the shoes meself and the sidelights but i dont have anything delicate enough to weld the exhaust and if i let then do the work i dont repay the test fee.....ok how much ......hmmmm lets see 40 for the test , 80 for the shoes inc labour 30 for the exhaust inc labour dont owrry about the lamps they will be a couple of quid we just do them anyway ,itll be about £150 .....bleuuurgh ....ok well the ticket runs out midweek im going to be too busy to get it back and dont fancy paying the 40 quid test fee twice so ill leave it with you and call me when its done.
Get a call today ...(them) cars ready .....(me) great ...(them) yeah its £180 ......(me) no its 150 quid .......(them)oh no sir its £180 we estimated £160 but the exhaust took longer than expected ...(me) yeah ok whatever...you stated to me £150 but whatever ....gets a lift down there and when they produce the bill its actually £188.95 .......(me) Ere mate do you want me to turn around and walk out and come back in.....maybe you could bump that up to £200 without me noticing or caring.......(him) Eh?.......dont matter forget it ...pay the bill and collect the car..........handbrake ...yup thats good ...sidelights yup them too ....exhaust ......WTF ......a 6inch long peice of 8mm threaded studding bent to shape and welded to the tail pipe as per the previous peice ........really???? thats the best you can do for a stainless steel exhaust system ???? Ya know what?.......been going there for years and never had a problem...always spot on honest,
even while i was there they had a guy on the phone argueing his bill .......shant be using them again.

Yeah really pissed off that they couldn't get it right given that all the leg work had been done. Too busy whining about their pensions and eating doughnuts.
