Very nice bikes indeed, yet GS still usually beats them and the Honda Crosstourer, as an all rounder in the magazine reviews......
That coupled with proven track record, third party add-ons and a vast European service center network means that it is a hard act to follow for any manufacturer, iirrespective of BMW's quality control issues regarding final drive and fuel pump etc. |
The real test will be in 5 years I guess... if nothing else, Triumph have rattled BMW somewhat.. hence them wanting to know why Triumph purchasers such as me choose Triumph over BMW. Looking forward to the new 1200 mill in a tourer or Sport Tourer... it really is a lovely engine |
I think it's testament to BMW that they are the bike to beat. They very publicly put their reputation on the line with the whole "Long Way Round/Down" thing, when others, if the stories are to be believed, were hesitant to do so. I'm glad triumph are doing so well, nice to see some British industry thriving this type of competition can only be good for the consumer, so bring it on! |
Yup... Totally agree with all the comments and it will be really interesting to see how a new water cooled GS and the Triumph compare _________________ Boxhill Chippendales

I think the true comparative test will be how gently you can lay them down in a car park in front of an appreciative crowd and still come up smiling . _________________ So many roads, so little time. |

I remember that - you arrived at The Grasshopper and immediately discarded your bike - showed a certain amount of style _________________ "Those who understand compound interest are destined to collect it.

The Explorer is really fast! The throttle takes a little getting used to as it's fairly uniform being fly by wire, unlike a cable one, the resistance feels different. So much grunt. Quite tall though, but carries it really well _________________

Getting approval by the NHS - by quoting them chapter and verse from the NICE guidelines - for a new drug (once a week injection for the rest of my life) for my blood disorder that costs an absolute fortune.

Realised tonight I hadn't had a chance to get out on it since the easter egg run so got off me ares and spent an hour and a half out and about and covered 70+ miles. Loved it but I'm rusty as hell but I'm smiling like a Cheshire cat. _________________ Opinions are like assholes...... Ahhh Fcuk it - YOUR WRONG !!!
