Do NOT use Bennets for your bike insurance unless you don't mind being ripped off and being treated like crap.

That's pants! Write a stinking letter to their head honcho and then threaten to send a copy to Watchdog, MCN etc etc, unless they're prepared to refund their £25 admin fee.

Letter written and about to go in post box.

As if the above wasn't bad enough they also discussed details of my policy with my husband when he phoned up to tell them he didn't want to renew his policy with them. There is no link between him and my policy whatsoever so I have pointed out what a gross breach of my privacy this is. Anyone know if they have broken the law by discussing my policy with him without my permission?

Yeah, they will never said that they are just a receptionist, they will always get it in somewhere that they work in a doctors surgery. Like it makes any difference, they answer the phone and book appointments LIKE ANY OTHER RECEPTIONIST DOES.

A while back i booked a appointment for one of my boys to see the the doctor, the silly cow on reception asked me what the problem was and why we wanted to see the doc. What the fcuk has it got to do with her. I refused to tell her and she got the hump about it.

This is a typical scenario at our GP surgery. Phone for appointment, phone is constantly engaged. Repeatedly hit the redial button, eventually it rings ..... and rings .... and .... rings and .... rings phone times out. Call straight back and its engaged again .......... Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Give up /make trip to book in person ... then they get all shitty if you have the audacity to complain .... Twisted Evil

Drove to the tyre place this morning to get my spare tyre fixed after that puncture I had a couple of weeks ago. It was taking a delivery so they were shut and I didn't have the time to wait as I was taking my bike to be MOTed.

This evening coming home, I got another flippin puncture! In the brand new tyre that was only put on the flippin car a couple of weeks ago. So there I am on the A3 at rush-hour with a flat tyre, so I limped to the slip road off at Burpham and wailed.

Fortunately my knight in shining armour had a can of Tyre Weld so he drove to as close as he could get and walked up the slip road to deliver the magic substance.

BUT (you knew there'd be one of those, didn't you) the whole can in the tyre, still as flat as a hedgehog. So limped the car off the slip road so it wasn't quite so vulnerable. Called the AA, knowing there wouldn't be anything they could do for me that wouldn't have me chasing a new mortgage to pay for it.

Car now sitting outside the tyre place ready for me to get TWO new tyres tomorrow morning.

Bummer.

Most times these people are just not very good at communicating or simply don't want any significant job responsibility (hence why they are in jobs that pay pretty abismally!!). The likely scenario here is that all official appointment slots are full but they will overbook if the appointment is urgent (ie a child and you say it is urgent). The system is naff. They know it is naff. And they have to deal with the naff system every single working day of their lives. ...Oh ...and as for being 'just a receptionist' ...actually, most GP receptionists also work as Practice Secretaries ...which means that they are (essentially) privvy to every detail of your medical record - and they are the people who ensure that your referrals to hospital reach the right person and that all of your test results are flagged with the GP when returned from the hospital. ...Oh yeah ...and they sometimes have 'bad days' just like the rest of us...

...Sorry for the rant but I spent 3yrs working with NHS Managers and GP practices and the GPs and practice staff were the only thing that kept me going ...its the gov and the PCTs that are at the route of the problem ...please don't blame the messengers!!!
